problem viewing .co.uk names with my current host
hi,
I am currently having problems viewing .co.uk names with my current reseller host. However I can view .com's fine. I am from England and my ISP is Freeserve. The host that I am with has their servers with theplanet.com and my host said that Freeserve and theplanet.com don't get on well.
In the past few days I tried with another host who also uses theplanet.com's servers and I still had the same problem. Can anyone tell me if they have experienced this problem before? if so, what did you do about it.
thanks........

Okay so then it's not really a problem with the host but maybe something local. Can you not see any .co.uk's? (test www.monsterhosting.co.uk this is at thePlanet).

When you change DNS it requires a few things:
1) propigate through the system to resolve to the new ns
2) your local ISP also much resolve the domain give it 48hrs
If that dont work
Check your Firewall setting I have seen in a few cases where the firewall wouldnt let the customer view thier sites make sure these sites are at least listed as trusted.
Hope this helps

Lee

I had this problem several weeks ago, and it was only affecting Freeserve users in the UK, everyone else could see their sites fine.
A swift firewall upgrade seemed to solve the problem!
