Well, Iv been wanting to get web hosting for a long time now. I have been searching around from where I should buy, but there are SOOOOO MANYYY web hosting companys that I really dont know what to get. Some of them seem fake (I dont know maybe its just me) I was looking at some with 1GB web space, 5GB monthtransfer for about $25/year...I was just wondering what is the best(fast, and reliable service) for the best amout of money.
2 dollars a month for a gig of space? You want a full control panel with that? How about full time support (When you just dont know how to do something), do you want the servers to be fast? or overloaded? Do you want file size limitations? How about a limit of file types? Why dont you (While you're at it) add on a secure certificate on each server that your host allows you to use to secure connections from your site to the customer? For 2 dollars a month?
Do this, You want "Web hosting" which is really a general term. First determine what you are going to do with the "Web hosting". Are you just wanting a high performance web site? running on that web hosting? or do you want to fill it with images and sound files and fill it to the brim with stuff?
If you want to pay 2 bucks a month, expect:
Erroring control panels
If you want the opposite above, expect 10 bucks a month for true support, a fair amount of space (100 to 500), at least 5 gbs of transfer, expect a setup fee (Someone has to actually make your account, someone has to be there waiting to enter your information into various databases (Not all hosts have fully automated billing systems, which should not determine your decision).
Find a host that meets your needs, gives you nice performance, offers a fair product for a fair price with a great following and you will be happy.
I think he meant that the offer looked fake from his post, not sure though.
If you want good service you need to spend $5/month or more for a basic package. One very good budget host I know of is CredibleHost. I have used them for a few sites, and although they're not the fastest to respond to problems and they have issues from time to time, for the price, their service is extremely good. You might want to check them out
Yep, just read the OP and I think you're right, but the content is still relevant and helpful, although a bit of frustration is showing in my post =) No offense intended to the OP, just more a commentary.
Remember you get what you pay for. People can't afford to have people working for them if they charge $2.00 per month. I think you should up your budget a bit. Saving for a few more months should not be to hard, well for you it might. Also what will be hosted on this site?

I disagree with this comment.
Companies can afford to give great support with offering $2.00 packages, on a few conditions that is;
1. The $2.00 package is for something realistic like 100MBs Disk, and say 2GBs Band. NOT for something un-realistic like 600MBs Disk, and 10GBs Band.
2. They over other well priced packages as like, like $10 ones, $15 ones, and others.

Use the Host Quote Fuction you should get some good response from hosts that will fit your needs. Please for $3-$7 be reasonable on the size bandwidth amounts would hate to see you posting here next month about yet another host that cant afford to pay support so you got bad service.
