SQL 2000 and WIN 2003 Problem
I can not connect to the sql server even with the correct user and pass for me looks like the port 1433 is blocked, connection string gives an error that SQL Server does not exist or Access Denied
Could somebody tell me how to open this port on win 2003?

Firstly, you'll need to make sure your firewall is accepting the ports needed to access SQL remotly.
Secondly, do you have SQL Server configured and running properly? I say this because I seem to remember you need to have so many service packs installed before SQL 2000 will run on Server 2003. Perhaps I am thinking of something else, but if memory serves, they wont work together right outa the box.

what firewall are you running?
btw. Default installations of SQL Server monitor TCP port 1433 and UDP port 1434

I'm assuming you mean IPSec Policies? or internet connection firewall, or whatever MS calls it. or nothing at all?
