Question How much time do you spend running your company?

Due to a comment made in another post I'm really curious what the average time spent running a hosting company is.

I'm not just talking support. I'm speaking of everything from advertising, dealing with new clientelle, managing servers, support and everything else.

Also, please post what kind of new systems you deal with monthly.

We get anywhere from 75-100 new signups monthly.

    Thanks,

    The more the better
If you include forum participation along with other daily activites then a host could be up for hours, got problems with servers? add a few more, problem with billing of customers? go on add another hour

Forums are a major part because they add to the reputation of the company.

And, if your signatures right, every post is free advertising.

Well, from the looks of things seems most of us spend over 1/2 the day working on our hosting companies.

I guess it comes down to if this is a living or not.

Yep, I guess so. And the best part of it is, we are always learning new information along the way to better our knowledge of servers, of the OS...etc.

    I LOVE IT!

If I had that kind of luck in the shared hosting realm, I most likely would not be doing dedicated hosting

You would be able to do that because you've already built up your reputation Mr Nova

That isn't just shared hosting. That is overall new sales monthly.

And as for not doing dedicated, there is money in both. That is why we do both.

Besides, Dedicated Servers are way more fun.

    Greetings:

On average 8 to 10 hours per day, Monday through Friday in the office; though on some days that can be up to 12 hours.

Then several hours per day from home every day including weekends.
