Thread: Need a new host

  1. #1

    Question Need a new host

Im looking for recomendations on a host.
All I think I need is PHP, mysql, ssh , and imap.
I will need to host 3 domains and have unlimited email accounts.

The only host I can find that offered this was websitesource.com and I am extremely unsatisfied with my WSS account.

    Cheers

http://findmyhosting.com/advancedsearch.asp would be a good first step indeed. Also looking at peoples' signatures on this board, as most are hosts themselves. Then do a search http://www.webhostingtalk.com/search.php?s= for each hosts name and read customer reviews.

    Good luck!

Im a little confused as to why you would require imap AND unlimited emails....

imap obviously has its uses and I believe almost every host offers it - I am a little confused as to why you would require unlimited emails - especially with the fact that you will be using imap (stored on server).

Im assuming all these domains would be yours (let me know if Im wrong) - so, why not set up 1 email per domain for each person that requires one within your company/group and 1 as catch all - you could manage the catch all via imap obviously from various locations....

I guess what Im asking is - how many emails do you actually need - unlimited sounds like such a tough number to get a handle on...

He probably just wants unlimited just to "have" the option...

Fair enough - but - whenever someone asks for unlimited - I automatically ask why - no offence meant to the poster - and yes - where are my manners - welcome to WHT...

    Hey REdOG,

You can drop a visit to bodhost.com
Their servers are very stable servers as well as their prices are economical.
But I am not sure if they offer SSH access...
I had my website with them earlier.. but as it was a hobby site I discontinued with them.
You can try out their Live Chat, I am sure that will be more helpful.

You might drop by cpchosting.net. They offer MySQL PHP SSH and IMAP along with webmail.

I've helped them out a time or two and they are definitely into quality servers and support.

They are running FreeBSD, can't remember which version though.

    Just check there site, www.cpchosting.net
