Well most of them are now dual Xeon's, I haven't seen many with more then that yet. Or do you mean bandwidth speed?

You wouldn't be able to say xyzhost has the "fastest" servers because there's so many factors involved, your location would make a difference for a start.
If you look for an established host that uses a decent network and are not expecting the world for a few dollars a month then you'll be ok. A host with servers in the same country as most of your traffic will be coming from would usually also be an advantage.Hyperconfused (™)

It also depends on how often ther are used, if an ip address is accessed alot, servers usually keep the ip cached so its much faster to access.

DNS entries can be cached... but I've never heard of an IP address being cached?

Any server can be blazing fast, it all depends on how well you administer it and the load on it. Even if you put too many people on a dual xeon, the server will still go slow...it all depends

Most servers won't have a slow connection speed. The problem usually lies with the client's connection speed.
