How far would you go after an attacker on your network
This question is mainly for any company with their own network or data center, but feel free to respond either way
Just wondering how far anyone is willing to go to prosecute someone that dDoS attacks your network.
[We], with help of one of our customers, had 2 different attackers arrested by the FBI for the last 2 attacks on the network. I feel we shouldnt sit back and let it happen. If we can start working together and cause some pain in return that can only help us.
Here is an interesting article if anyone hasnt read it yet on a spammer - http://www.reuters.com/newsArticle.j...toryID=5277540Last edited by SoftWareRevue; 05-28-2004 at 12:45 PM.

Although spam is illegal in the UK at this time there is currently no penalty if you were to spam.

He was arrested and convicted for fraud and forgery, nothing to do with spamming, it just so happens that he was also a spammer.
It is amazing how people think they wont get caught for doing something like this. Maybe they do not realize that everything they do can be tracked back to them one way or the other.< < E Z Z I . n e t > >

Personally, I whould try my best to do something about it. IMO the fact is, if you dont stop them from doing it. They will probly do it again, and then do it to someone else. Eventually hitting the wrong ip, and making someone loose alot of money.
