    would I break...

    would I break something if I chmod all homedir as o-x

    i wouldn't probably have much benefit, but, for example, .lastlogin wouldn't be world-readable

    Taking of the eXectuble flag wont help you any far with this.

    plus apache needs at least world +x to get into the home dir so it can get into the public_html or such dir.. if the homer dir or any dir below public_html is like 700.. apache won't be able to get in to serve up webpages.

    i thk the minium value for chmod is 711 for /home/user
