Ensim 3.7.0-26 and character sets (notibly £ signs)
I'm running Ensim Pro 3.7.0-26 on a box created and installed by my ISP but seem unable to get to the bottom of what I thought would be a simple problem...:
Simply any PHP page containing pound signs (£) doesn't display correctly in IE on a Windows machine, instead it shows a ? (question mark). The only success I have had is forcing UTF-8 encoding when saving the file with BBEdit (mac); although this doesn't gaurantee a fix. Forcing any other character set (even Windows Latin 1) doesn't solve the problem. Additionally any pound signs (£) retrieved from the DB (MySql 3.23) are also not displayed correctly or at all.
Can anyone help with this as it's severely testing my patience now. My ISP seemed to think it was because ENSIM only support U.S. locale but that doesn't quite make sense to me!?
Your site must be on a Fedora server running Apache 2.0.. settings for charset are different and you should tell your webhost to go see that thread on Ensim Forum and look at my answer under nickname Celtyc.
