database problem afther copy from Cpanel to CPanel server
afther moving accounts to a new server i note that most of databases are not working correctly.. They has all ben transfered however they dont work as the password are not accepted or customers cannot login to manage there application ( helpdesks, forums etc)
Do i miss some steps when transfering databases with CPanel ?
Is there any way to reset databases?
thelinuxguy: thanks.. i will try this out. Probably the problem is because the old server runs MYSQL vers. 3.x.x. and the new 4.x.x.
However i saw that there are missing a few libreries on the new server.. i will install them and see what happens.
Also, it will be a good idea to check the user table in the mysql database and make sure the usernames are not changed during the transfer. If they are, you may need to give privilege to the new username to access the database transferred over. If you login to the control panel and check phpmyadmin you can easily find out if the database is listed there. If not, grant privilege to that user (to access the original database) with the cpanel password. I think its well explained at mysql.com/doc/

You can tar the /var/lib/mysql directory as thelinuxguy said. Or you can just do a mysql dump on the old server and import it on the new server. Then log into cpanel and just run the repiar tool and all "should" be well.
