Yes, mainly mail processes are on heave load I think. Better make a crontab entry to restart sendmail server after few hours automatically. It is not a proper solve. But, nothing doing, else server will be very slow really and nobody can connect.

Better unload the antivirus, they can't stop new viruses, only increse the load of the server.... It's horrible really.

SIM will not solve the problem however it will help avoid further problems caused by the server crashing.

I know that SIM will not resolve my problem.

To solve this probelm I simple disable Anti Spam and Anti Virus in the mail server until i find a better solution.

What cause this problem, I don't konw. I have this box about 4 months and never have this kind of problem.

I'm going to investigate this a litle more...

But as per it's doc stateing that it will automatically reboot the services, but if somebody sending some important mail, and that time service rebooted, that spool will be loosed. Is it a good solution ?

Yes, but isn't it better to fix the high load problem then to use a bandaid patch to fix the problem temporarily.

... But it is not the proper solution. Only a bandaid. I really belive there is no need of Real firewall and Anti Virus . Becasue they jail the box from outside world. Jailing yourself ,to protect yourself from thifes is not the proper way.

Actually there is a need for a firewall and antivirus utilities to be in place because they allow a balance between security and freedom. If you configure a firewall and antivirus application correctly they can both deter many bad things.

However if there is a will there is a way.
