What Is The Best Free Monitoring Software
I have been using whats up gold but have just got to the end of my free trial and just looked at the cost Dont think I will be paying that lol
What is the best Monitoring software to use and that is free can be linux or windows.
All I need it to do is have a webpage that I can have loded up on my pc that will up date and then send me an email if there is a problem.
I would like to here what you have to say

http://www.nagios.org/. It can be a pain to set up if you don't have patience, but in the end, it works great. I have mine heavily modified, not just using the config files but the actual C source as well (to add extra stuff, etc).

Been working on this all night now it is a bitch to set up have still not finished....
What windows ones are there out there now days that are free

Got nagios work very well now took me lik2 10 hours to set up but a very good app
Nagios is definitely the most feature packed.

Nagios is complicated at first, after you get to know how it works, its very easy to modify the setup. And has alot of plugins for monitoring alot of different services.
EasyMonitor, the old man, is still pretty reliable. Although I don't have the need to use one now; my obvious choice was EM before.
