I had my domain registered with "discountdomainregistry.com". A while back, I received an email requesting the transfer of my domain by discountdomainregistry.com. I ignored that email but a few days later, I found out that my domain was transferred WITHOUT my authorization. I have contacted DDR several times without any success. I went back to the discountdomainregistry.com transfer request email and noticed this statement:
IF YOU DO NOT DECLINE THE REQUEST WITHIN 5 CALENDAR DAYS OF 22-Feb-2004 13:32:04, YOUR DOMAIN WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY TRANSFERRED TO *********, Inc.
I WAS SHOCKED! I contacted them again asking for an explaination but they just gave a bunch of ..... They had transferred my domain without me knowing. I told them:"What if I am sick in bed and don't have access to my email for a few days. Will you transfer my domain?" They just had nothing to answer!
Now, does anyone know how I can make a complaint and follow this up to get my domain back? I know that discountdomainregistry.com is NOT an ICANN accredited and they resell domains (probably TuCows). I have also contacted ********* but they never answered me. Please HELP!
I would try contacting tucows directly and if you still get nowhere it might need a lawyer, registrars/resellers who auto approve transfers are worth avoiding. The tucows resellers I use seem to always require the person to approve.
Good News! This past Friday, March 26, I was notified that hue1.com had been returned to ev1servers.net. WhoIs shows it's mine. I await information on accessing the domain, in order to get the page currently showing on the site (tue911.com).
Thanks for all the comments and suggestions.
Kudos also to Tucows and ev1servers for seeing that the error was corrected. It took less than a month to get hue1.com back into my flock. I have to admit that I feared I might have a really long, drawn out and hard time getting my domain back.
"Color" this one happy.
You might want to contact him regarding who he dealt with, but I'd remain hopeful.
