  1. #1 DOWN?

When a site down like dominet, does it save all the emails which got sent to it?

I do business with my email, and it is very critical for me to have it up and working ASAP.

Emailing joman i think is worthless because, even his webhosting company site is down.

What do you think i should do when its like this?
    Ask for reimburstment?
Get a letter of an apology?

as a client of a webhosting company, should i expect all of those?

nevermind.. its up now.. but i can't go to my CPanel\

nm... rather than pointless ranting here.. i'll just use their support ticket

Get a reimburment and at least complain unless this downtime was scheduled although you should have been notifed before. When they are back up I suggest to check the policy and see if anything is included when it goes down unknown as most web host do.

The emails should be sent back to the sender with an error message. I see that you probably need it up very fast, but there isn't much you can do.

Yeah, that doesn't sound right. If the server(mail) was down or scheduled to be down, they should have notified you plus if they were going to do such, the coul have switched you to another server prior taking the (need-maintenance" one down...

I'm no email expert but I think most email servers try sending an email several times when one server is down. If it wasn't for very long I doubt you missed any.

ya... i've just sent many emails.. and my clients said that the mail bounced.

    1. Didn't tell me anything
    2. My mail is definately bounced
    3. No switching to another server. (even their website were down, i should've taken a screen shot of it)

Sorry to make it a big deal, but i had sent some very important emails out today.

You deserve some sort of reward for that. A few free months of service

If they got DDoS attack, and they "can't give you an estimated time" when its back up

    your business is halted....
    WTH would you do?

i think its really time for me to move...

Any good host will have a offsite emergency page informing customers of any outages be that scheduled or emergency.

A DDoS attack is not exactly their fault and depending on the scale of the attack things might take a while. How long? No one would be able to give a precise estimate. I would not move unless these attacks aare very frequent (in which case they may be related to the type of websites that they host, as some websites draw a lot of anger towards themselves).

Then again, just move if you had enough of them. You'd the better judge of that.

PS. MN-Robert is making a good point there.

When pinging you see it goes up for about 20 seconds, down for 2-3 minutes,. up 20 seconds, down 2-3 minutes etc.

  14. #14
It's logical your server is up, as it is not in their network.

  15. #15
    yea.... hmmh...
but my website still up no problem.. .. i think they have their site on a different box?

    mmh.. i see inconsistency

nnn: u got a site they host?

  16. #16
Your site is on a server in another datacenter.

Yes, I'd suggest that you listen to the voices above.

We didn't stay long with them (fortunately), but we had the same problem as you, in that we couldn't get a response in good time. And unfortunately, there were other problems as well (eg: server security).

I want to apologize because of all recent network issues. We were having some BGP issues but they are solved since a few days ago.

About support issues we made some changes with our “human resources” and things are in order now.
