I'd just like to share the fun experience I'm having with Plesk 7. I've spent a few days now trying to get Plesk to install, with no luck, finally this morning I decided to contact there tech support, and man are they ever awful. After a day of countless emails, letting them even login to my server to fix it, nothing got fixed and they told my my previous installation of mysql server was bad. That same bad mysql server works great w/ webmin and phpmyadmin, as well as many sites that use it. Well finally I decided to take down my own mysql server, which causes some bad down time, but anyway, I did that, and removed the config file so Plesk could install it's own server, which worked, but now all the databases I need arent there, but anyway, it looks like Plesk has started everything for itself, which sucks. I guess I got the wrong idea of a control panel. I though Plesk would take control of my current services.. not install its own and mess my current ones up. Is this how Plesk is suppose to work? I've never used it before so don't have much idea of how it works.
Yea that makes sense I guess, I'm just used to installing and maintaining everything by console, never used much of a control panel before, but I know it's what people want so I decided I should try it out, see how they work etc, any reccomendations as to how I can make it more compatible w/ my current setup?
