long term clients

hello

do you give some kind of discount or incentive for long time clients?

i don't give nothing yet, because if they're for long time, that's because they like it and don't need anything else...

but anyway, it could bring some results...

We provide 10% discount on semi-annual, and 20% discount on annual signups. Since the client is basically signing a long term contract in most cases, you need to offer them something in return. Otherwise, they're safer sticking with month to month.

Ah, I see what you mean. Generally, if a user doesn't request more resources they probably have no use for it. I have on several occasions increased resource allowances on some accounts when requested for longer term clients. I wouldn't go adding to accounts out of the blue though as it would just tie up more resources that probably wont be used anyways. Unless of course you're overselling, in which case it couldn't hurt.

I would go the extra mile for a customer that has been with us for say... more than six months. More than one year tells me that they're satisfied too. I often send emails to long term customers just to ask how things are going and if we could do anything to improve their present experience(s).

Its a good idea to setup special programs for long time customers, ones that make it really difficult for them to want to back down

We occasionally drop a free month for long term customers. We still have a handful of customers from 2000 and 2001 that we like to do special things for. We are going to have some t-shirts or some fun stuff like that made up this year is the idea. People like to use stuff like that to clean their cars with.

The only additional discounts we give are obtained by paying for the hosting packages by the quarter or by the year and are available to all clients to take advantage of at any point in time.

We don't show preferential treatment to any clients because of how long they have been with us, we treat every one of them like gold. That way the newer clients stay and become long term clients, and the long term clients stay because they have been treated consistently throughout their relationship with us...
