    Slow forum but low load

    Hi.

I have a Dual Xeon 2.8 GHz and 1024 Mb RAM, and a very active forum with 30,000+ members.

My website is starting to take FOREVER to load, and there always seems to be broken images, or broken javascript, even though everything should be working.

When I access my top command, the load is very low, around 1.00, but it shows that I always have around 5-30 zombie processes, and my ram seems to be fully used.

For the past couple days, my site has been fine, but only today did it start becoming very slow. What could be wrong?

P.S.: I need a server admin. I can pay in advertising.

A load of 1 is ok for a dual xeon, so I dont think your load is the problem as you said. However, it doesn't matter if it shows that your mem is full, that is common. what does your swap look like? Paste the entire top command so we can get a better idea.

paste the output of a "free -m"

also you might want to start more apache processes. Also check to see if you are running a SMP enable kernel paste the output of a uname -r
