What should I do to start building my site off this .psd template?
You need to open it in an image slicing program, such as imageready. Slice it then choose "save for web". It will make an html file for you and a folder with all the sliced images.
However hand coded is better. You could pay someone to do it for you if you don't know how.
you should make sure each images is top notch quality yet the smallest file possible...
Not sure which template you bought but you can use this website to get detailed instructions on editing a template:
ummm you do know Photoshop does slicing for you. I don't know of a version that doesnt' do it. then just save to web. or how ever it is worded.
You should open your file using photoshop.
Here's a link that may help you after you opened the file.
