Well you'll be damn lucky if you find a domain like this. Literally every 3-LETTER .com domain is taken, probably every 4-letter too. A 3-CHARACTER .com wouldn't quite be worth as much as this guy will sell this for, but still quite a lot. I'm guessing the reason why people buy domains at such a high price is because they can develop it and sell it for even more later on.

Its worth a lot. After 2 character domains 3 character ones are the most expensive.

The reason why they are expensive is the large companies who can build a brand name/corporate name around them finds them useful and can offer a lot of money.

I have found some info which can help you to market it:

Maxtor Corporation's NYSE listing code is MXO and they are pretty big.... so they might find the domain useful. It is also a company which can afford a domain 10k upwards. About how to go about the negotiations I cannot give the best advice

    Good luck with the sale.

I will accept bids until friday after that i will sell it to the highest bid

If you pay the asking price $2500 i will include 30 extra names with about 120 to 500 links each and they all have traffic. Only the buyer will know the names. Several of them listet in Yahoo also. Many nice names you also can resell further.

This name mxo.com also have traffic. And if you forward the names i will give to the buyer if you pay $2500 you will get high traffic each month.

Will there be an issue with this domain name? I am intereseted in this however doing a US trademark search shows that the name "MXO" is already registered.

    Word Mark: MXO

    Goods and Services: IC 009. US 021 023 026 036 038. G & S:
Electronic apparatus for scientific purposes, namely, sunglasses incorporating fiber optics, communicating signals and range finders for use in hunting

    Filing Date: September 11, 2003

Owner: (APPLICANT) MXO Products, Inc. CORPORATION PENNSYLVANIA 461 McKnight Street Reading PENNSYLVANIA 19601

Will it be okay to still run a net company off this??

I think, but don't quote me that multiple mark can be made by different companies in different fields. But someone here will know exactly.
