if you use your datacenter's nameserver instead of your own..

i've heard some people use the datacenter's nameservers ns1/2.datacenter.com instead of their ns1/2.theirdomains.com, how can the ns1/2.datacenter.com know which A record for theirdomains.com ?

    say i have ip 1.2.3.4 for mydomain.com, how can ns1/2.datacenter.com resolve the A record to 1.2.3.4 ?

Normally u need to fill up their form and they will point accordingly. Sometimes you can put your server as NS1 master , let the datacenter's be NS2 slave.
