Buy my own ns?

Hello,

I would like to know where I could obtain ns for my reseller account as I do not want to rely on those provided by my hosting...

I'd like to have 4 different ns at different location, any idea where I should look at to get:
ns1.luhost.com
ns2.luhost.com
ns3.luhost.com
ns4.luhost.com

N.B.: Luhost.com is my reseller webhosting domain

I need something cheap :/ as it is only for non-profit websites

Any idea?

thxs in advance
Ludo

ok
in your domain control panel look for something like "register DNS"
then assign your domain to the Ip's provided by your hosting
For example
ns1.luhost.com to 123.123.123.123
ns1.luhost.com to 123.123.123.124

This service is usally free
it's free at eNom , namecheap.com ..etc but it's not available at ev1
is't what you want to do ?

Yep in fact it's the kind of think provided by ultradns that I need I think.

My mind start to be messed up with the DNS thing... I'll try to explain a new time my problem.

I've a reseller web space account and a directi reseller account.
My website as one IP for www.luhost.com and 2 others, for ns1.luhost.com and ns2.luhost.com
BUT I realized that those 3 IPs are one the same server, which is totally dumb in my opinion. That's why I want to change my ns, to have 4 of them in different location.
BUT I want them to looks like ns1.luhost.com etc and not ns1.blablabla.com, etc...

If I understood well what you told before,
Let's say I sign up to dnsmadeeasy.com to obtain use their managed NS service to have a good redundancy of ns (http://www.dnsmadeeasy.com/s0306/aboutus/net.html)
but they will provide me with ns like: ns1.dnsmadeasy.com etc...

Consequently, I just have to use the option in directi to create child ns, to point ns1.luhost.com to ns1.dnsmadeeasy.com etc...
And then nobody will know, that I am using the dnsmadeeasy ns?

Am I correct or did I completly miss something???

Ludo

It isn't impossible, or very hard at that, to figure out which host they are using. But to the general eye looking through the whois it will appear you have your own nameservers.

I am sure they can see lots of stuff that I can't think of
I just want when doing a classical whois to have my ns written, not more

honestman: I think you misunderstood what I wrote. I said it isn't impossible or hard to tell what the real nameservers are. Only the casual eye won't notice it uses someone else's.

vanity means you can have your ns1.yourname.xxx pointed to their ns1.anything.xxx's IP and use it in your domains.

so if someone whois the domain it will show like ns1/ns2.lubox.com and use their service.

i do it all the time for my resellers, they have their own custom nameservers registered with my nameservers IP addresses, so when their customers whois their domains it will show as hosted on their own servers
