Limelight Networks experienced a failure of an OC-48 circuit between LAX and
PHX starting around 6:00 PM MST and recovering around 7:45 PM. An OC-192
card which caries our OC-48 had failed and required a replacement. You may
have experienced a temporary loss of connections to and from PHX and a
decrease in performance based on the active rerouting of the traffic.
We are sorry for an inconvenience this outage may have caused.

A DDoS killed our BGP session to LLNW in a totally unrelated issue, connectivity was restored thereafter and engineers will continue to probe for cause and solution for the better part of this afternoon.
Someone has found it necessary to repeatedly DoS our router and attempt to take out the BGP session. We are in the process of bypassing the particular router in order to prevent this situation in the immediate future, and will be reconnecting it once we find an appropriate and safe course of action.
This, unfortunately, is what happens when we begin to offer an auto-null routing service. People stop attacking user IPs, and start hitting routers.
Yes, we have successfully bypassed the router in question and will be looking into a more safe method of null routing in the near future. Tenatively, any future outage related to this issue will be a scheduled one which will only be considered after we harden things up a bit.
There have been no outages as of lately (DDoS related packet loss perhaps? read ahead...), if you are seriously concerned as to whats actually going on (or not going), then please refer to the Announcements board at http://www.blccsupport.com . We will always post an Announcement there whenever there is an issue we are aware of.
On the other hand, if your only concern is to generate media attention, then this is the place to do it, but you cant expect that you're going to get better answers here than you are using actual support medium.
