    Hello,

I don't know whether im posting in the correct forum but here i go,

Let me preface by saying that I would never do what I'm about to suggest (since I host for money I don't have to)

Let your users know (or don't) that to provide their service you are going to take their information and sell it to marketers. You could even have your sign up process include a bunch of demographic questions.

    Just a thought.

try www.targetedvisitors.info they will send you good amount of genuine visitors, have a nice landing page and since you are free you will probably get more sign-ups than paid ones.

exchange ads with galacnet, he also runs a free company

Was Adsense you only source of income?? Doesn't sound like a very sound business plan.
But sure there are other ways to make money. You can use popups, cpa/cpc ads, and affiliate programs. If you want something similar to Adense, there's AllFeeds.com but it won't come close to Adsense earnings.
    Are you a webhost?

Overture is also a good option. But you could do a search on google for CPM or cost per click and you'll find some good ones.

Try to optimize your website according to SE, its expensive but well worth. Other mediums could be Tell a friend or Referral Fee that is especially for your customers other than you affiliate program i.e. a free month of hosting for customers to refer some one Try to use creative approaches, think out of the box

I think maybe he meant the keywords he was using with google weren't making the minimium clickthrough rate., so they slowed his account, or possibly lost it.

There is a minimum clickthrough rate (i.e. you much have so many people clicking on one ad per month)?

I didn't know that! I just signed up, too!!

    Just read it more closely
Termination; Cancellation. You may cancel the participation of any Site in the Program and/or terminate this Agreement with or without cause at any time by removing the JavaScript or similar programming from Your Sites. Google may at any time, in its sole discretion, terminate the Program, terminate this Agreement, or suspend or terminate the participation of any Site in the Program for any reason. In addition, Google reserves the right to terminate without notice any account that has not generated any clicks on Ads (as measured by Google) for a period of two (2) months or more. Upon termination of participation of any Site in the Program or termination of this Agreement for any reason, Sections 3, 6 through 10, 14, 15 and 16 shall survive termination.

Yes, you have to have a certain amount of people clicking the ad.

Here is an email I received when they slowed my own account in April. If one keyword doesn't meet the requirements. It becomes slowed. They notify the email on your account when this happens. :

    Hello,

We'd like to notify you that the AdWords system has slowed the delivery of some of your ads because one or more of your keywords isn't meeting the minimum required clickthrough rate (CTR).

It's critical that you review your ads as soon as possible. If your keywords continue to perform below this minimum requirement, the system may disable them completely. Also, please note that if the system slows your account due to low performance three times in a row, we will charge you a $5.00 fee every third time you restore it.

Please visit https://adwords.google.com/select/performance.html now to learn how to:
    - Restore your account.
    - Optimize your ads.
    - Avoid this process in the future.

As always, if you have any questions, feel free to send us an email by logging in to your account and clicking 'Contact Us.'

    Sincerely,

    The Google AdWords Team

    samj and yaser,

Thank you the those keyword links! Are those just words that should be contained in my webpage content or in the webpage keywords (Meta-Tags I think they are called)?

I have one question, there is something in Google AdSense about Page Impressions vs ClickThroughs.

ClickThroughs is just someone clicking on your link, correct?

    What is a Page Impression??

    Never mind, I found it!

Clickthrough rate - Clickthrough rate (CTR) is the number of clicks an ad receives divided by the number of times the ad is shown (impressions).

Impression - The number of impressions is the number of times an ad is displayed on Google or on sites or products in Google's ad network. A page impression is counted each time an ad unit is displayed on a publisher's site. Page impressions are used when calculating reports for AdSense publishers, rather than ad impressions.

So it isn't the number of clicks you receive but the ratio of time someone clicks an ad to number of times an ad is shown?

You people are OFF TOPIC... You are talking about adverising on Google AdWords, when he stated that Google AdSense was his only source of income. AdWords is where you put your ads on google. AdSense is where you put ads from google on your site and make money by your users clicking on ads.

    Back on topic,

You could put up a banner spot, and advertise it as $50/mo for x/impressions, or something of the sort. Then you get 4 people to rotate their banners at $50/mo.

Sorry about that, I am new to Google AdSense and am still trying to figure out what needs to happen for my site to make money. Not looking to make big bucks, perhaps just to help pay for hosting. I thought that is was somewhat related with the topic of making mone online...
