    how to find if an IP was used to spam

    Is it possible to find out if an IP of a hosting service was used to spam?

    My mail is bening returned as spam

    Visit dnsstuff.com. I do believe they allow you to check an IP in most of the major spam databases.

    It seems that their website is currently down, so you may have to try later. It was working this morning though.

    usually the return mail will have an error message telling you what list is blocking the iP.

    Do note that some of the lists block chunks of innocent IPs. So no spam may have ever originated from your hosting service.

    To find out IP information just use dig hostname.com on a linux box. Once you find out the IP address you can do a search in arin to find the netblock owner.

    Found the problem:
    i was sending the mail as info@mydomain.com

    info@xxxx is taken as spam at some isp's
