    hotlinking problem

I'm looking for a method to stop hotlinking from
a site that my client runs, the thing is that i
need it to show an error img insted of the img that
    those people tried to hotlink.

in addition to that, because this img will be related to the
client website, i need the hotlinking protection only
for his site & not for the whole server.

Use this code in .htaccess for that domain.

Your site url in this example is www.example.com. To stop hotlinking images from an outside domain and display an image called nohotlink.jpg instead, use this code in your .htaccess file:

    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://(www\.)?example\.com/ [NC]
    RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^$
    RewriteRule \.(jpe?g|gif|bmp|png)$ nohotlink.jpg [L
