If you mean corporate site design I like Hostway and Interland.
Well ... Maybe you're right, but I think, that the design can be good or bad only!
Independently to what audience/target group it's intended.

In an open minded persoons perspective yes, but don't forget these 13 year old kids who will sign up at hostrocket type site rather than a better host with a more corporate design. (Not syaing hostrocket are bad)
I like it a lot
About DIY. In my opinion it is far from being in the list of the best designs, their site header looks like a templatemonster one. The best graphic there is the loading box. Just my opinion.
About 2advanced.net. It sucks. Terrible navigation and several errors when browsing it (maybe due to my firewall or whatever). Nothing to do with 2Advanced.com, really.

I for one like it .. very "crystal" like
Only thing is .. the Newsbox content is wider than the grafx in Mozilla .. you shoudl check it out

Eh, it's ok. I think the overall design is pretty nice. But I think they lose alot of potential clients because I think many people find that site hard to navigate, and find what they're looking for. There's to many options for the average consumer, and the text is so small in some area's it's ridiculous. But yea, the design is nice Just not a fan of the site layout.
In looking at the burstband.net site it looks like the designer did a cut and paste job from www.mchost.com , www.mac.com and a combo of some coenex sites. I think you spent too much time at the over-used photoshop tutorial sites. Not a bad looking site but hardly original content. I would think that any confusion or similarity to these sites would be more of a liability than an asset in my opinion.
Haha. Zoren. Your quite simply put, not that smart. Thanks for coming on here, and completely flaming my design work, and my website. Burstband is QUITE original, if you’re saying mchost and mac.com's design looks like BurstBand, then you better adjust your prescription. Big deal if my site gained inspiration from some ceonex sites. The only thing that looks similar is the blue header.. NOTHING else. How could you ever have any 'confusion' between my site and burstband, mchost, or ANY ceonex site out there for that matter?
And then you proceed to say I spend to much time at Photoshop tutorial sites!? EXCUSE ME!? I'm sorry, but I am 100% self taught in Photoshop, and even if I wasn't who gives a damn about using tutorials you find on a website. Your condemning people that don't know how to use Photoshop, therefore they go to a tutorial site, and learn how to create graphics for there website from there?
I am interested in seeing any websites YOU'VE developed, so I may search the internet, and condemn YOU for what sites your website slightly resembles. Send me any graphic you've ever made, and I will find one that looks very similiar to it. I challenge you! I went out of my way to make a site that had as an original design as possible. My site looks different then 90% of all the web hosts out there.
I swear, some of you people just love to come on here and flame websites that you feel even 'remotely' resemble another site. Why don't you save your unintelligible ranting and ravings for web sites that actually deserve it.
Well IHSL, you may be right. Probably are. But either way, I see this happen all the time, not just to me, but to plenty of people. Obviously yourself included. I've had incredible patience up until now, but once in a while it might be a good thing to let off a little steam, and let people know when they're being ridiculous.
Anyway, I think your header is fine just so you know. I'm calm now, but you've got to admit, it's annoying when people flame your site without really having anything to go on, so they just start making stuff up.
You may not like what I had to say, but I can't see where you can dispute the similarities in your work to the sites I mentioned. How is your site "quite original'? I did not say that the sites listed were like yours, but that yours is like Theirs. Look at mchost's logo and then yours. It is just a reverse of their logo. Similar font, same red square and lighting effect. You used the navigation that was made famous and recognized as "the mac" site navigation. You had a server image that looks like it was lifted from a ceonex site that is now gone. To quote you "But we got all the clipart/icons we used from a open gpl pack so they were free to anyone" - how are stock icons original?
Regarding photoshop tutorials, there is nothing wrong with them and I have gained a tremendous amount of knowledge from others willing to share their skill with others on the internet. I happened to notice several images that look like examples straight from these tutorials without modification. Nice work but not much originality.
It's laughable that you want to turn this around and take the focus off of yourself. I didn't copy anyone's work. I didn't come here and promote my own work. You don't like me, fine. That doesn't take away from the fact that you have borrowed heavily from others work and want to argue here that it is completely unique and original. Keep going with that argument. I am interested to see where it gets you.

Looked at your logo lately? I've seen your website/logo in the past but didn't bother with it. The logo is clearly copied from our website, even the glow is in the exact same spot, even the dark red border the same width. Then, if you go to http://burstband.net/services/reseller.php , the style in which the RedHat, Horde, osCommerce, etc. is explained, that's copied from our website as well.
If it makes you feel better, since we created our design and plans page, it has been copied a dozen times by companies on this very forum - i don't bother with it, really. If you can't come up with your own design and ideas, we're glad to have inspired you. Just keep it within reason.
