LOOKING FOR WORK as admin, support tech, or programmer (serious inquiries only).
I am looking for a serious job. I am not interested in working for a free server or in exchange for anything I could buy myself, nor am I interested in below minimum wage offers. I am looking for a real paying job that offers reasonable wages.
I have 9 years experience working for web hosting and ISP providers. I do system administration, installs, programming (scripts, automated programs, control panels, you name it), tech support and more.
I mainly work in Linux (mostly Redhat 5.2-9.0, and Fedora as well). I am willing to work with FreeBSD systems if needed. I am not interested in managing Windows servers. I have experience with tech support via ticket systems, phone, forums, live chat and email and communicate well both verbally and written.
I have experience with DNS systems (BIND and djbdns), email services for POP and SMTP (Exim, Qmail, Vpopmail, Sendmail), Apache 1.x and 2.x, many Apache modules, PHP and many PHP modules and options, SSL, and much more.
I am familiar with all commands, process management, security, installs and configurations, shells, kernel compiling and patching, and much more. I program in several languages and interfaces. I am comfortable and very experienced in both shared and dedicated servers, running plain white boxes or with control panels installed.
I am very experienced with Cpanel and WHM and all the scripts and layout of the software. I am comfortable working with other control panel software as well, or systems running none at all. I have created help, FAQ and documentation for support and internal staff and developed projects that consisted of client and server applications.
I am well versed with all aspects of web hosting and am quite capable of building servers from scratch and building it up to a fully functional server with all the services and software needed. I can comfortably fit into any position and have too much experience to list here.
If you are interested in seeing what I can offer your company, please email me via the email feature here, or to my address ([email protected]), or simply reply to this post with your contact information. I have solid references and an up to date resume. I am confident that I am what you're looking for, if you've been having trouble finding a qualified candidate. Thank you.
As some have inquired, I should post a follow up here. I am well over 18 years old and I live in the United States and was born here as well. And, yes, I am more than comfortable doing security as the majority of the work if the company that hires me so wishes. I am also willing to do only administration, or programming, or support. I am also willing to do all of the above.
Additionally, I am very comfortable with pre-sales support or a management position as some have also inquired. I can easily fit into any position. Finally, I prefer to telecommute and have a large office network and am not interested in relocation at this time (though possibly at a later date if things work out well and the company desires I relocate to a physical office they have). I hope that helps clear anything up for any potentially interested parties. Thank you for your interest.
In response to further emails. I am not looking to do any short term sub-contracted work others hand to me only when they need it. I am not looking to do any 'design projects'. While I can do web design, I am not currently and have no desire to be a 'webmaster' and do graphic designs or any type of trades or projects in that regard or short term projects of that nature.
I may entertain the idea of a large programming project (control panel or some in-house program project), but I'm otherwise looking for a full or part time contract that's long term with a company that's someone I can work with *long term*.
I do not want to take on any short term projects or hit and miss type of work. That also includes requests for me to help set up a server, secure it, do any audits or help figure out a one-time problem. I am looking for something steady, not just little things here and there. That is a world that I (and everyone I know) can't live in.
That means I don't want to do a project/job (especially a web design project) and that's it (especially for the prices people are trying to get away with offering for that sort of work). Even if it paid well, I wouldn't want to commit myself to something short term and have to turn down an offer for a long term employment/contract.
Basically, I'm not going to do an entire site design, programming and database backend project for a week or two, or set up a server or help with a problem, only to be back where I am now. Please do not contact me for design/web site projects of that nature, or requests to help with a problem or two-day admin job. If you didn't bother to read this thread and ask anyway, your email will be ignored. Thank you for understanding.
I want to thank everyone that contacted me for their interest and questions. I got a good position with a company, pretty much after the few hours after I posted here, but have just finalized faxing some contracts to secure the position after a good phone conversation the other day. Therefore I am no longer available at this time, so please do not email me regarding anymore positions. Good luck with your search!
