    Migrating from Linux to Windows

    Hi

I have two servers - Linux & Windows

I run several PHP & MYSQL websites on Linux server.

I wonder if it's possible to run them with no problems on Windows server.

Which Control Panel is good for Windows (with MYSQL/PHP support)

If anyone had experience with this migrations please let me know how it went

    Thanks

I was browsing HELM forums and have questions to you guys

Is it a good idea to run PHP/MYSQL sites on Windows with HELM?

Personally, when comparing two identical machines that we have at work, Linux + Apache + PHP is faster than Windows + Apache + PHP. It's actually noticeable when viewing. Not sure if this is normal but it's what I've seen.

It'll work, but I really don't see the reason for it.

Never used HELM so can't help you there.

I've moved a PhpBB from Linux to Windows running IIS+PHP+MySQL and it worked without any major issues. There were some small changes which you need to make but otherwise, it is smooth.

I personally like Ensim since it comes pretty much with PhP and MySQL pre-installed and you could integrate it with the accounts quite easily.

I have no experience with Helm so I cannot quite comment.

Like I said, they are just minor issues and they basically pertain to the way directory paths are formatted. Then there is just the difference in how file/directory permissions are set.

I don't really forsee much issue.
