Billing Forum

I would like to see a billing forum on WHT where everybody can talk about their billing problems, issues, new merchants, stuff like that. What do you think?

Personally I think that billing is covered in the "Running a Web Hosting Biz" forum. I don't really see the need for yet another forum here.

I don't think much people will post in it.

You don't think many people will post in it? Billing is a hudge part of web hosting and is widely talked about on WHT

I believe you can talk about billing in one of these forums:

Web Hosting Forum
Running a Web Hosting Biz
Hosting Software and Control Panels

Billing is too specific.
Why not add "Linux, Solaris, Windows, How to start a web hosting company, and etc forums? People talk about them too.

From someone that mainly reads rather than write within WHT, I would like to see maybe some sub-forums.
Something like breaking down for example "Hosting Software and control panels" into subs.

Again as an example;

WHM & CPANEL
PLESK
SUPPORT SOFTWARE
OTHER

This would make finding and reading the topics your interested in much easier. That said, I do not have any major problems reading this fine board.

That would be cool except that WHT would get so big it would take you an hour just to check every forum

yah, just like SitePoint Fourms, where they just got a link to sub forums rather then making the index all filled up with these additonal catagories...great idea...

I don't want to seem like I'm shooting down ideas, but when SP went to subforums, the result were forums that were barely traveled and so many threads had 0 replies. It might be doing better now, I don't know, don't go there anymore *yick*

The good thing about WHT is that it is general enough to attract a wide variety of people. The bad thing is that often, some forums are not specific enough to really cater to the member's needs. At the moment, all forums seem pretty well visited, which is good.

I've asked Matt about opening another forum that I pictured would handle just the specifics, though we never got that discussion going. Unfortunately, most of what I pictured has been suggested lately and while that makes me think you'd all like a second forum, I don't know if Matt would want to implement some of it here, and unlike some of the web hosting forums, none of forums here would have overlapped (I don't see a point in putting up a second WHT and the forums would actually be based on a sitemap of a directory site I have).

*bangs head on desk*

Anywhoo.. I'll still try getting in touch and seeing if some way, we can cater to some of these requests, either here or there, somehow.
