    do you have

Prevent the user 'nobody' from sending out mail to remote addresses (php and cgi scripts generally run as nobody if you are not using phpsuexec and suexec respectively.)

    root@epoch [~]# traceroute qualipac.com
    traceroute: unknown host qualipac.com
    root@epoch [~]# traceroute snecma.com.cn
    traceroute: unknown host snecma.com.cn
    root@epoch [~]# traceroute www.snecma.com.cn
    traceroute: unknown host www.snecma.com.cn
    But query from dnsstuff.com worked.

    For e.g http://dnsstuff.com/tools/lookup.ch?...om.cn+&type=MX

The MAIN issue is how the resolved IP FROM your box not any other server/box

I have tried resolving from several box of ours but none worked.

Could you resolve it on your box? Or could you please try sending mails too?

    Works from mine:

    telnet root@xxxx []# telnet mail.snecma.com.cn 25
    Trying 210.13.22.133...
    Connected to mail.snecma.com.cn.
    Escape character is '^]'.
    220 mail.terra.com.cn ESMTP
    EHLO
    250-mail.terra.com.cn
    250-PIPELINING
    250-8BITMIME
    250-SIZE 100000000
    250 AUTH LOGIN PLAIN
    QUIT
    221 mail.terra.com.cn
    Connection closed by foreign host.

    Try that on your server.

    telnet mail.snecma.com.cn 25
telnet: mail.snecma.com.cn: Name or service not known
mail.snecma.com.cn: No address associated with name

Hm, seem to be able to telnet on another server. Any idea what is wrong with our DNS?

It doesn't appear to be working.

What's your /etc/resolv.conf have in it?

Is this a cPanel box? If yes, then there's an option to limit the number of emails sent per domain. If you break that limit then it will also give you the unroutable domain errors.

So, are you buying me a beer now ?

    PM you the config.

I'm pretty sure the client did not go over the limit because I have lift up the sanctions and it gave the same error.

you can run run exim -d -bt email@domain to determine what caused the mail delivery errors.

    guy.lambert@fillon-pichon.com.cn is undeliverable:
all relevant MX records point to non-existent hosts or (invalidly) to IP addresses

and same story for snecma.com.cn. you can set a smarthost for these two domains to their SMTP server, 210.13.22.133.

DNS lookup of qualipac.com (MX) gave HOST_NOT_FOUND
    returning DNS_NOMATCH

and same story for dfair.maeci.gc.ca. nothing you can do about these.

    bmcebj@public3.bta.net.cn is fine.

that's because the dnsstuff.com lookup you did looked up the MX, whereas the traceroute you did looked up the A record.
