Kernel 2.6.6 and IPTables
so I just booted into kernel 2.6.6 and now I get a bunch of errors when trying to start APF because of IPtables. It is just a bunch of these errors repeated:
iptables v1.2.7a: can't initialize iptables table `filter': iptables who? (do you need to insmod?) Perhaps iptables or your kernel needs to be upgraded.
Starting APF:Unable to load iptables module (ip_tables), aborting.
As far as I could see while compiling, ip_tables was not a module in the config.
I just checked and IPTABLES is compiled as a module. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?
Compile them statically, if you are booting off the MBR its fine if the kernel is a bit bigger and its worth it.
Statically compiled objects are available before loaded modules.
OK. Also, will I need to build iptables 1.2.9 after I recompile?
