Question Multiple Forums on one domain - Possible?

Is it possible to have multiple forums for one domain?

Assuming it is possible, I was thinking somewhere along the lines of
    • Forum1.Example.com
    • Forum2.Example.com
    • Forum3.Example.com
    • and so on...

Or is it more practical to do
    • www.Example.com/Forum1
    • and so on...

    p1az & evilek,

    THANK YOU for your replies!

How much bandwidth does a forum as busy as this one use a month?

    lol

sorry! id imagine this forums goes through about 100 gig a month? thats me only thinking about the vb setup, not taking anything else on the domain (host quotes etc).

search the php resource index, im sure there's scripts there to help you start forum services. even with vb, you can customise individual subforum headers and styles, so you could manually set up the subdomains to point to the forum id's, i think, not too up on it though!

You can set it up to be reachable through forum1.domain.com and domain.com/forum1 at the same time. If using vB make sure you have a license for each install, Meaning forum1.domain.com and forum2.domain.com has to have its own license. You probably know that but just makeing sure

    100 Gigs/Month!!!!

Yikes! No way I could afford to keep a site with that much traffic (unless something like Google AdSense would be enough to pay for it).

Plan on using phpbb. It is free, right?

But gotta find out if they allow the use of one per site...

Why not use Ikonboard and phpbb? I mean, it looks a little cheap, but it works.
