VO domain issue
I asked my host, venturesonline, 6 days ago for my domain name login/pass to the registar and it seems they refuse to hand over the information!
They registered my domain for me initialy when I signed up for hosting some 2 years ago.
Creation Date: 27-jul-2001
I pay 15$ a year to them for them to re-register the domain, thats never an issue, but when it comes to me wanting to take my domain to another host.....pft!
Is there anything else I can do?

venturesonline should give you the reg info since you are the one who paid for it but what do you need it for?

Just checked, it looks like you're the owner and registrant of the domain name. If you truly want to get control over the domain name, you could change registrars and completely remove VO from the loop. This would also add an extra year's registration to your domain name. Simply find another registrar that you like and request a transfer. Confirm the emails that are sent to you, and let the registrar handle the rest. I would wholeheartedly recommend that you consider www.dotster.com. I know several folks there, including the President and Director of Tech Support, and have used them for almost four years now.

if I do request a transfer at dotster, how long would I have to wait for it to go through and moreover, would my site suffer from it?

Your site should remain up the whole time. On average, it takes about 10 days for the transfer to complete, though you should do this no less than 30 days before the renewal date of your domain. Anything less than 30 days, your current registrar has the right to deny the transfer. If you need any help, drop me a PM here or email me, or post your question, and I'll be happy to help you out.

Hi Mr_Wuss,
If you send me your ticket number at pat@venturesonline.com, I will personally look into why you've been unable to obtain your login to manage your domain. We place all domains in the customers name and provide them with their login information to manage their domain and it's not uncommon for customers to request their access information.

Mr_Wuss,
I'm glad you've gotten your information. That is a long time to wait. I'd appreciate it if you would email me your ticket number, so we can review why it took so long.
Thanks!!!
Pat
