    Co-lo NY/NJ - multiple servers low bandwidth

    Hello There,

I'm looking to put 3 web servers, two db servers and a backup server (total 8U) into co-lo facility in NYC/Northern NJ area and do about 300Gb (say 1.5Mbps at 95%). Am currently paying $850/mo (started off at $300 and then got killed by bandwidth charges).

Any suggestions on fair price for the above for good quality bandwidth, good facility, and good service?

Also, any advice on co-lo providers you've used successfully would be appreciated!

    Best Wishes,
    Peter

Although if I read it right, there is physically a tech present for issues that may arise with FNap 24/7 (not sure if through FNap or Choopa), whereas Peer 1 has 24/7 tech, but not 24/7 onsite in NYC - only in Vancouver.

(PLEASE correct this if wrong either way round and apologies in advance if I've pieced this together incorrectly!).

    Best Wishes,
    Peter

    fsusa,

I could tell you if you go with Choopa direct, then you'll get 24/7 access to tech support directly.

You might also want to check out http://www.digitalprinceton.net/ -- they have 100% uptime colo in both NYC and NJ. Their prices are quite competitive IMHO.

peer1 directly, yes. they have on call techs. some of the providers in their facility, like us, have our own on-call techs in manhattan with solid response times.
