Nuns raping? How can they preach about god and do stuff like this?

    http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,119604,00.html

After thousands of priests committing sexual offences it now looks as if though nuns are no better. Sick.

Right, and then there are people supporting those churches which makes them as bad and as guilty as those nuns.

Yup. It's the idea that God is above the law that scares me.

See.. if it wasnt for religion.. this wouldnt have happened..
    Think about it.
They are forbidden to get married, and forbidden to have sex before marriage.
    What do you expect?
It's only natural for humans to desire sexual interaction.
    Thats just sick though..
When you think about nuns, you think about old nice grandmas.. not criminals...

Is t my ignorance or is this a far worse problem for the Catholic Church in Christianity, i don't hear these kind of reports about the Anglican church say or not on the same level by any means.

Is that right and if so why do you think??

    thanks

Funny how religions cannot follow their own moral guide lines. One more nail in the coffin for why religion is fake. I would assume a loving God would have at least had this stopped eventually.

    Critic - good point.

However, I often think that the Catholic Church is the most hounded of all, hence more cases are found.

...although it's been proven humans can't survive without some kind of religion - our minds can't cope with the thought that one day we'll just die and that's it.

I think research was done - people will invent their own religions (which almost always involve an afterlife) if they are dumped on their own with no prior knowledge.

Of course we can survive without religion!
There are many out there.. myself included..
Who do not beleive in any of that..
You may consider atheism a religion,
    But it is
the service and worship of God or the supernatural
    So not really..
    Maybe you consider this definition
a personal set or institutionalized system of religious attitudes, beliefs, and practices
But some people who say they are atheists, myself included.. do not attend any place of "worship" or etc. to practice Atheism..

James Sullivan, 55, of Boston, attended the school from 1953 to 1967. He said his head was slammed into a wall and a door one day, and he was slapped around and hit with a yardstick until he was bloody. When he told his parents, Sullivan said, they did not listen to him.

"They felt the nuns were right, you know, they had to discipline me," he said.
Well, for this to be in the news now is (to me) a bit odd. I mean, this guy went to school there over 50 years ago. it just seems that charges, punishments, ewtc., would have been handled years ago. If he did indeed tell his parents, then I don't know, it just seems odd that this si making news now. It just seems it's a bit like filing charges against your babysitter (who was 13 at the time) 50 years later for spanking you while she was in charge of you. She's 63 now.

Of course, if there were crimes that were never charged, and if they are deserving, I have no problem that justice finally be served, but... again, it just seems odd for this story to be making the news now in some ways.
