need suggestions for Shopping Cart apps
I'm in the process of assembling a small commerce site for a client. I intend to use AmeriCart for the shopping cart application as I've used it before. But the client is small time and is very concious about costs. Americart's recurring cost is a concern to them.
Does anybody here have suggestions for alternative shopping cart applications that are reliable, secure, but cheaper?
I need something flexible like AmeriCart where I can build the site without restrictions and just insert the shopping cart codes where necessary. That is, I don't want to be limited to a predefined store format.Serial Beggar

If you have ever had to modify osCommerce you will recall how much a nightmare it was (not hard - but time consuming)...
A friend told me the other day about a german group taking osCommerce and creating a branch with a templating system.
XTCommerce. I downloaded it, but have yet to install it and see how it goes...

But if you are considering osCommerce, it might be worth checking out as osCommerce really needs a templating system badly.
