Well, yes... It also depends very much on the tactics used. Some hosts start with very cheap prices only to raise them later. By that time though they will already have an establised customer base which can do them a lot of good throught word of mouth advertising. (That is if the service is good of course.)
So the host will get a lot of customers in the begining but may not get as many later on with the higher prices.
The success of one company can not determine the success of another. You can ask how other people are doing and expect that to determine how your own ventures may do. You may beat their results, or you may not. There's no way to determine how well you are going to do except yourself
Former owner of A Small Orange New owner of <COMING SOON>
probably he is going to try out webhosting business.
so wanting to know to estmate the revenue.
But really, each company have different figure.
It all depends how well do you market your webhosting, how do you serve your customers.
Most startup webhosts determine to provide the WORLD's BEST service to their future customer, but usually after few months they slack down (poor support + downtime + ignore customer + entertain only new customer)... eventually shut off.
It all depends on how brand, sell and market yourself.
If you have great prices and value added services your company will do good. However best days? I wish there was a festival like christmas or Newyear where hosting companies would have lots of signups and best days. Best days are not fixed, to achieve signups you have to work work and work very hard! to reach a point where you have a queing sales line! Instead of asking such open ended questions you should ask, how can i improve my service? Would anyone recommend xyz company? questions that all of us here can respond to without passing out Business Information. thanks
First month how many a day? Im not sure if someone got clients on their first day unless they hosted someone they knew. Hosting is not like maths or physics where a formula can help you the projections you are looking for. Like everyone else mentioned, you cant expect to get such sensitive info from anyone.
When I first started the 1st year hardly had any sales, I think less than 50. Web Hosting really takes time to built up unless u are a big ISP related company that has all the advantages of a ready client base and infrastructure. Each operates in their own environment, just stop wondering about others and try your best to achieve the best sales. I think that's it.
It all comes down to how good you're advertising it. I know of companies that after 3 months had 10 sign-ups per day, some had 2 per month after 3 months. So there isn't any magic matrix. But as I said, it's all about advertising and what kind of start-up money you have.
To be more specific, depends on type of advertising and where you advertise, if your not advertising to your niche market, no matter if your spending 1000's you wont get good results, because if you dont do ecommerce hosting and are advertising on ecommerce site, whats the point?
Your start-up money should be carefully invested in different places, online, offline. Dont stick to one type of advertising, like they say dont lay all your eggs in one basket ! thanks
