    On SSH

    oldserver:
    mysqldump -u(mysqluser) -p(mysqluserpassword) vbdatabasename > filename.sql

    new server:
    mysql -u(mysqluser) -p(mysqluserpassword) vbdatabasename < filename.sql

make sure you create the database and sql user before doign the restore on the new server.

or just do the dump / restore thru phpmyadmin

You could use phpmyadmin to back the database up then restore it on the new server. Always works for me.

does vb have its own backup facility? i think it does.. in the admin cp go to backup/restore save the backup to your hd on ur pc.

Re-install vb on the new server, go to backup/restore and upload the backup from your pc

Thats the easiest way to do it i think and ive always found doing the backup from the forum itself works the best
