    Helpdesk Software?

We are currently using an old version of PerlDesk and are looking to upgrade due to more demanding services.

PerlDesk have their newest release for $50 and was wondering if anyone else would/could recommend another helpdesk system around that price that you are happy with?

    Thanks

Thanks mazsola, however, we have already tested this product and I would not say that its more featured than perldesk.

    Thanks anyway for your recommendation.

    mazsola,

Its windows based (was not aware perldesk was?)

I was looking more for users to recommend a helpdesk they have used or know is good for around the stated price.

    Cheers.

I would say pick from any of these:

    - PerlDesk - www.perldesk.com
    - ExoHelpDesk - www.exoscripts.com
    - SitePanel2 - www.sitepanel2.com
    - eSupport - www.kayako.com

    Cereberus - spelled wrong perhaps.

    Excellent however.

Best recommendation: Write your own... that way it has the features you want, and nothing of the things you don't want.

I would highly reccomend Cerebus over Perldesk and any other support systems out there. Sure its not free, but it IS worth the forkout if you want to offer quality support system to your clients!

Hey, thank you all for your suggestions.

I wonder how much it would cost to have such a thing written?

Anyways, although its free we decided to go with ExoPHPDesk. I think it is excellent and I like that the initial page can contain different sections.

Thank you all for your recommendations.

Has a nice email piping feature like perdesk, and it's written in PHP.

support-logic.com is another free one. I'm trying to set that up, but for some reason... I'm not getting any of the mail reponses... probably a setting I overlooked.

Go with Cerberus, but if you have balls, check out RT2. I'm using RT2 for the last 3 years without any problems. However, if Ceberus was around back then, I would have gone with Cerberus.
