I have a new computer, P4 and has Windows XP. Applets take an extremely long time to load, and most of the times it freezes IE (IE seems to freeze a lot by itself anyways). I am using Sun Java on here. If I do get it to load, a lot of the times I get error messages to clear my cache, which I do every day to try and solve this, but it doesnt work. However, on my other computer, its a P2 with Win 98, applets load really quick, however it doesnt use Sun Java. Both computers are using my cable modem. Any idea why applets take so long to load on a faster machine?
Use microsoft java, currently its much more 'lightweight' but it doesnt have any more updates, just go to internet options then advanced and uncheck use sun java as default, it will then use microsoft java.
I tried that, doesnt work. Ran virus scan and spy sweeper to make sure I didnt have anything, found nothing. The browser freezes before the grey screen even comes up, I dont even think it loads the portion of the page below the applet.
