    wants help with mySQL Dump

I was wondering if someone would be able to provide an example for me on how to do a mySQL Backup from a file to the database.

I was wondering how you can strip the comments out of the SQL File all the way to inserting the data into the mySQL Database. It would be most appreciated if someone helped me with this.

Do you mean restore from file to database?

Maybe you would like to paste a line or two of your file here so we can see it.

To restore a database from a backup, issue the following command from a shell prompt:

    mysql database_name < backup.sql
To create a backup of a database, and to remove the comments, issue the following command from a shell prompt:

    mysqldump --opt --skip-comments database > backup.sql
