Flash Experts: I need help importing a movie into Flash

I would like to import a Windows Media movie (wmv) into Flash MX and publish it as a swf. The movie I wish to import is 320x240 and is produced at 30 frames per second. I'm having difficulty in determining the proper procedure and settings. Here's what I'm assuming I need to do:

    1. Create new file.
    2. Go to Modify>Document and set size to 320x240, and set frames per second to 30 to match the imported movie.
    3. Go to File>Import and select movie to import.

Here's where I'm confused. In the Import Video Settings dialogue box,
    1. Is it advisable to slide the Quality guide over to 100%?
    2. What should I be showing for the Keyframe Interval setting?
    3. Should I click to Synchronize Video to Flash document frame rate?

    Thanks for your help.

If you were to slide the pointer to 100% you would get a massive filesize with no optimisation. If you care about the filesize I suggest stick to the default 50% or drag it to 65%.

The keyframe is a bit obscure. Since you want your movie playing at 30fps - you can get your main movie at 30fps and your WMV at 12fps.

Yes you need to check 'Synchronize Video to Flash document frame rate' so it could play your stage at 30fps and have your WMV play at default 12fps.

    Hope that helps!

Thanks, Sheldon, but I'm still confused. You're saying one setting should be at 30 and one at 12?

As in my original post, before importing, should I be changing the document to 30 fps?

And then when importing, the keyframe interval should be... (?)

    Create New Doc
    Set fps to 30
    Import WMV File
    Set Quality to 65%
    Change Keyframe to 12
Check 'Synchronize Video to Flash document frame rate'
    You are ready to run!
