    interesting reverse lookup

Here is a reverse lookup (whois.sc) of my domain registered at godaddy.com

    ...

Server Type: Apache/1.3.29 (Unix) PHP/4.3.2 (Spry.com also uses Apache)
    Website Status: Active
Reverse IP: Web server hosts 1281231 websites (reverse ip tool requires free login)
IP Address: 64.202.167.192 (ARIN & RIPE IP search)
IP Location: United States - Arizona - Scottsdale - Go Daddy Software Inc

    ....

1,281,231 websites on one machine is pretty impressive.

I would be willing to bet that the vast majority of those are not being hosted there, but parked. Having the domains being parked there would only require that a DNS entry for them be made.

Certainly possible. That's still a lot of domains parked or otherwise on a server.

I agree with hostito seems like load balancing where the ipaddress till hits there network is just one but within the company network itself there is virtual technology that has different ipaddress for the internal server and uses the load balancing algorithm to shift the work load onto less busy servers and then again when outside world looks at them it seems to them that one server is doing the work....
