who do you use for server management?

If you do, that is. It seems a little rare to find a server admin service that works w/ DirectAdmin as well. Most everyone is cpanel.

Other than rack911, anyone else have any input?

We manage our servers mostly in house, with a little help from Psoft when dealing with things directly related to H-Sphere.

We have also contracted with Dynamicnet/WeManageServers for server security, and they do an excellent job (and they know H-Sphere quite well too)

All done in house. If you need to contract it out, rack911 and wemanageservers are both good from what I understand from the various posts I read about them.

Most of our server management is done in-house. We just added Acunett.com management (mainly for the security). I am very impressed with the service so far.

    All in house.

I wouldn't have it any other way. The feeling of knowing someone unaccountable is touching your servers is just uneasy.

You're right, finding a server management provider who does Direct Admin is hard to find....but I guarantee, anyone familiar with RH can figure out Direct Admin....this coming from a former Plesk user.

    Greetings:

Over the years, our experience has been that if you know servers, operating systems, et all and hve worked with automation systems like H-Sphere as well as control panels, working with new automation or control panels is easy.

That means any good system administrator whom you can trust should work out ok.

    Thank you.

I am thinking of starting a server management business.
This post may be a little offtopic, but its one of the few i've found regarding server management services

Any suggestions on billing software to use?
Seems to be a different purpose/market that the current
solutions for 'hosting companies' may not work for.

    Any thoughts?

Internal team here, sometimes we will use an outsourcer only if our workload is far too high. Thats pretty rare though.

The biggest problem with being in server management an incredibly massive level of liability. No matter how well you screen your employees, you never know when you're going to come across a bad apple.

A few I would reccommend are the obvious ones...

    - Rack911
    - WeManageServers
    - EasyServerManagement
    - FastServerManagement

Mostly in-house, however I think that gpan over at www.cheetaweb.com is the best I have ever dealt with. Extremely fast, good with security and available everytime I've needed them.
