In my dedicated server ( cPanel ) , after each 1 hours MySQL stop working, and web pages connection to sql giving the errors like :
Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/tmp/mysql.sock'
And in top, MySQL process on the top after every 1/2 hour. My current my.cnf file is attached with this msg. Please advice me what I should do to fix it up.
Take a look at your server and see if you a symlink to mysql.sock in your /tmp directory. Is it there?
Yes it is there.
[/var/tmp]# ls
./ ../ mysql.sock@
[/var/tmp]# pwd
Can you suggest some optimum setting for my.cnf ? I have 495 user on that server.
I used to get that error quite a bite, tryd a few things with no luck, so I figured it was time for me to update to the new apache / php / mysql versions, so I reinstalld apache and the errors did go away...
I tryd looking around for other solutions, but found only one which I found not to be the reason.
But MySQL , Apache and PHP is up to date ?? What else I can do to fix it ?
Update apache , mysql , php and recompile apache - easyapache .
I may have got some wording wrong :\
change the lines saying:
socket = /var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock
socket = /var/tmp/mysql.sock
