Increase the workload for Proslacker maybe....not the mods
It'd probably be more of a workload if the mods let everyone do avatars as the youngins (post wise) are probably a bit less prone to follow the rules than those with 1000 posts.0

I like the idea- I am all for it.
My vote is that company logos are fine, as long as it is not an advertisement in that people start trying to make their logo read like the following:
100 Mb Space
3 GB Bandwth
$1 / mo! <link>Here</link>
That is my $0.02-------------------------------------------------

I agree with Gabriel Murphy it would be fine with the company logo/url but having plan's on it, it's a no no go area.

I agree with Gabriel, also.
So long as it's the logo, not a slogan/tag-line, etc.
I do also agree with Monsieur Bob, it shouldn't be tiered, or you'll just end up with the 'elitist' comments again.

I don't see how it would be "elitist" if you've earned it. It's the same deal with custom user titles; if you're here long enough, and have a good post record - then you earn your avatar.

okay, now i know what it is, reference.com: Control, rule, or domination by such a group or class
I don't really see as Akash pointed out how it would be "elistist" if you've earned it.John Heslop0

I said it would be thrown around, and I stick to that.
It did with premium memberships, and will do with his idea.

Good point, maybe host them on the server so that the users can't change them to advertisments?
edit// I know it would be a strain on the server + bandwidth wise, so why not let like a host donate a server or two, like mainareaJohn Heslop0

I honestly would like to see avatars on the forums with the stated restrictions. It would personalize people's profiles more.
right now i think the profiles are pretty plane and adding avatars would bring some unique back to the profile.
If not avatars allow image uploads for photos into the users profile under the same membership restrictions.
Thanks

They will be Off for everyone, when and if enabled.
Every member would have to go into their control panel and manually enable being able to view them.
If you don't want to view avatars, for whatever reason, don't turn them on.There is no best host. There is only the host that's best for you.0
