Help Please: Looking for good host!

    Hello,

I'm looking for a good company with nice security and support to host a website that needs around 4Gb space and 40GB Bandwidth (must be upgradable). Site is www.vgcity.com

Any recommendations? I want something reliable because moving those huge databases is not sane =P

Also if you know any host that could help move the databases that would be appreciated =)

    All suggestions welcome Thanks!

How busy is your database? If it is taking up a lot of resources, I'd suggest a semi-dedicated or dedicated server.

Name your price, I'm not a cheap person and I want quality. Really fed up about all the downtime and visitor loss.

Well not very busy. Used to have 4000 unique visitors a day and around 12-15 users online on forums at all the times until problems started so now its down to about half that. I dont think It uses up a lot of resources.

If you are looking to request hosting, please use the host quote feature:
    http://www.webhostingtalk.com/request.php

WHT does not allowhosting requests on its forums.

If you are looking for recommendations, I can leave this thread here.

I know I wish they'd read our TOS, just as they expect their customers to read their TOS.

In any case, good luck with your search, be sure to research your possibilities

    findmyhosting.com/AdvancedSearch.asp might help too

Whatever you do, use WHT's search feature to find what customers have said about each host.

    Good luck!

I wouldn't exactly say you need a dedicated or even semi-dedicated - 40GB a month is quite minor - storage isn't an issue in most cases (although it can get expensive) and 10-15 forum members at a time is really nothing at all.

In fact a reasonable celeron could handle all that and a whole lot more - just keep hunting you'll find your match.

Hi Layouts - a shared package would do it - but, if you start getting ALOT of simultaneous users, you may want to switch to a server with less accounts - reseller, VPS or dedicated...

Best of luck with your search....

By posting the Control Panel you are using now, or want to use, will allow people to provide viable recommendations. Not sure what you mean, though, by "nice security"?

Those ******* cover goime8's website. He/she was spamming these boards and his/her account was disabled ("Account Disabled"). That says quite a lot.

Pair Networks at http://www.pair.com will be your best choice since you are not a cheap person. They are still reasonably priced.
