Looking for a decent VPN capable router/switch
Im trying to offer help to a member of my family who wants to setup a
small VPN network so that his staff can access the company database
Can anyone recommend a decent router that can provide this?
He has talked to some CCNA's and MSCA's and they all say this will do.
However, Im going to recommend he colo's the VPN router and server
so it wont be an DSL router that he requires anymore....
a FreeBSD box with 2 NICs + poptop software has worked quite well for me. Its pretty economical too.
For that DSL router above he was going to be charged $1000.
So we do have some money here to spend on security.
I'm looking into the poptop software.
I have very little experiance dealing with VPN, this is why something that would be easy to manage would be perfect, once its stable i would not be touching it again either.
Also FYI the database server will be running Windows.
Its to share access to an Microsoft Access database (not my choice)
