Spidersaid has helped me solve this issue now and everything is working perfect.
Up and running.. but makes you think twice about backup.. what do you do if ever you can't reach who you are hosting from. After all we are all humans..
How do you make a secure backup for instance for an auction site?
The important data you have is the database data your auction site runs on - so before your website content I would concentrate on finding a backup solution for your data.
The control panel used will tell me if you're able to backup the data yourself, through a cron job, or manually, or if only the host can backup your data.
You use Cpanel, I believe (unless the provider has disallowed backups) that you can create your own from the Cpanel interface. I'm not extremely familiar with Cpanel, simply because I can't stand the control panel...but thats another story
You should also be able to run cronjobs from Cpanel as well, which means you can tar up your database data and have i sent somewhere safe off of the server, like a third party backup service provider.
You should ask your hosting provider if they provide these things through Cpanel - database backup and cron jobs. If so, then making a remote backup is a piece of cake.
