While PlaneWalker is correct in that design is subjective, there are fundamental design techniques that all good web sites employ, like a logical navigational structure, well-written content and a highly available web server. While the mechanisms to achieve these vary from person to person (PlaneWalker's point), the results are the same and it CAN be measured (my point).
To Executive, I'd perform a Google search and take a look around. Another idea is to pay attention to web-related magazines - those companies who advertise there are usually successful enough to afford it, which means they're doing something right.
I don't know of a 'comprehensive listing', no. You can compile your own list, though, if you have the time to devote to it.
